About meghan mcferran

Meghan McFerran is a dancer, choreographer and journalist from Albany, New York. Meghan recently graduated from Temple University  with a B.F.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Journalism and moved to New York City, where she is a fitness instructor at Body Conceptions by Mahri and a freelance dancer and journalist.

 

Meghan's dance credentials include Eleone Dance Theatre, Kariamu and Company, Reveal Movement Dance Company and the Temple Diamond Gems Dance Team. She has trained under Dara Stevens-Meredith, Gary Jeter and cast in pieces by Kyle Clark, Tommy Waheed-Evans, Dr. Kariamu Welsh, Molly Misgalla, Cat Cogliandro and Matthew Powell. She studied modern, Horton, ballet, hip-hop and Umfundalai at Temple, and has trained at Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester, DCNS Summer Intensive, and the Pulse on Tour.

 

Meghan is constantly looking to fuse her passion of dance and journalism together. She is currently interning with Dance Magazine and has written for international blogs and theaters around the country while directing Temple University's Dance Blog

 

As a choreographer, Meghan's credits include pieces performed at Conwell Dance Theater, Downtown Disney and Symphony Space NYC. Her most recent work titled "Vignette for You" was presented at the American College Dance Association at the University of Maryland and was selected to be in the final gala performance.

 

Meghan aspires to be a professional dancer on Broadway, perform with Alvin Ailey, dance commercially with artists, become a news anchor on the Today's Show and travel the world dancing and writing about her experiences.
